As the demand for clean energy rises, the world is breaking free from a dependency on the outdated grids of the past to move to a greener tomorrow. An increasing number of countries, companies and regions are embracing sustainable energy generation, bringing more and more clean energy initiatives to fruition. Aligning itself with the evolving energy requirements of the present and the future, 8 Star Energy—a clean energy company founded in 2018—is focused on bringing renewable products to market that will easily integrate into people’s lives. “Our mission is to help consumers transition to renewable energy and put power in their hands, literally. Given the changing energy climate we are in, there is growing and ongoing demand for products in this space. That’s why we have worked intimately with industry leading partners to deliver a portfolio of innovative quality products that meet and exceed consumer demand and expectations,” says Julian Sweeney, Managing Director of 8 Star Energy. The company is amid a scale-up phase and is primarily focused on residential, commercial and industrial sectors.

In line with increasing energy requirements and the need to switch to renewables, 8 Star Energy is rising to the challenge by producing products and services that place stored power in the control of the people. 8 Star Energy is a licensed partner of Energizer Holdings under the world-famous brands, Energizer and Eveready. Being an Energizer Holdings licensee is more than just using their brands. There are stringent brand, quality and social standards that need to be met by every participant in its supply chain. 8 Star Energy functions as the guardian of their brands and ensures that all its partners uphold the values, principles and standards expected.

With society becoming more mobile and the increasing need for power to be portable, 8 Star Energy has been poised to cater for people that want to live and operate off the grid. To this end, the company has developed Eveready and Energizer portable power stations. Julian comments, “Portable power is a growing sector for products over 25,000mAh. Consumers expect to be able to charge more than just their phones from a power solution. In fact, they want to be able to power a range of devices, in addition to everyday appliances and tools.” 8 Star Energy’s products help solve the portable power challenge and allow people to power up whenever they want and wherever they are.

The company’s product portfolio consists of four major categories, namely, portable power stations (PPS), battery energy storage systems (BESS), solar inverters and solar panels. This suite provides synergies to all types of renewables enthusiast, from the weekend warrior, to the self-generating energy advocate. Importantly, 8 Star Energy aims to help clean energy enthusiasts at a variety of interest levels to integrate renewable energy products into their lifestyle. Customers benefit tangibly by having power when they need it and saving money on energy bills, while doing better for the planet holistically.

“Our mission is to help consumers transition to renewable energy and put power in their hands, literally”

To help consumers create their own renewable energy ecosystems, 8 Star Energy developed the Energizer Home Solar suite that includes solar panels, solar inverters, and a battery energy storage solution, named Energizer Homepower. This ecosystem helps consumers generate power from the sun and store it for later use – they might even choose to trade their energy as the battery unit is Virtual Power Plant (VPP) ready. Further, even though the suite works as an ecosystem, each of the products can operate in isolation, making them suitable for new and retrofit installations. “We also have an additional battery under the Eveready brand named the Eveready EnergyVault to provide portfolio balance from a positioning perspective,” Julian notes.

While there are many intermediaries in renewable energy supply chains, one of the major actors in Photovoltaics (PV) is the installer – the group of people who physically install solar panels, inverters and batteries. They have one of the hardest jobs in the journey. Some of the biggest laments about battery installation are due to their clunky design, difficult to access panels and exposed wires, which in turn, make them difficult to install. End-users of products are also a vital part of the supply chain. They are more discerning than ever, requiring additional levels of information and control, not to mention modern design to complement their lifestyles. The Energizer Homepower battery was designed with all these elements in mind, and more.

Energizer Homepower is an all-in-one energy storage solution that epitomises modern design, coupled with cutting-edge technology. To accommodate various household types, it is suitable for indoor and outdoor installation and will withstand all-weather conditions. Backup protection ready in case of blackouts, Energizer Homepower provides discreet control for installers with easy to access system controls, cleverly concealed behind a patented weatherproof door called the MagnaFlap. Produced using the safest lithium-ion battery chemistry, LiFePO4, Energizer Homepower boasts a modular design, allowing customers to add sub-units with a maximum total capacity of 24.4kWh, as their energy storage needs evolve. This expandability is complemented by built-in software intelligence, which allows customers to manage and control their energy usage and solar production from anywhere, 24/7, in real-time, via the Energizer Homepower App. Virtual Power Plant enabled to allow energy trading, Energizer Homepower allows consumers to charge off the grid when prices are low, and discharge when prices are high, to optimise savings.

The Energizer Homepower product was designed and developed in Australia with input from installers and end-users, so while it provides a legitimate choice to support an Australian owned and designed invention, it is a world-class product with advanced technology and innovative design that will be a standout in every region it becomes available.

What gives 8 Star Energy a competitive edge in the market is a strategy focused on the strength and connection of its relationships with manufacturers, partners, and brands. The company has embraced the reputation and global strength of the Energizer and Eveready brands who together, have over 200 years of brand equity behind them. “Their values and principles align closely to ours and we are proud to be associated with them,” remarks Julian. Along with its manufacturing partners, 8 Star Energy develops products that are state of the art and cutting edge in design and innovation. The key point of difference for 8 Star Energy is that it anticipates consumer demands and is at the forefront of new product development in renewables to deliver on those needs. 8 Star Energy aims to mould the future of the clean energy sector, now and well into the future.

8 Star Energy is growing geographically to better serve different markets. The company currently has an office in Melbourne (Australia) and with growing operations in Europe and the United Kingdom (UK), it recently opened an office in Dublin (Ireland). With an expanding portfolio, 8 Star Energy will offer all products under Eveready and Energizer to every market it caters for, taking advantage of their global recognition and strength. With the Energizer Homepower battery now in market in Australia and New Zealand, its next launch will be Europe and the UK. The Eveready Portable Power Station range launch is imminent for Australia with deliveries expected in the coming weeks. Furthermore, the Energizer solar inverter and solar panel ranges are nearing completion and expected to be in market later in the year. “We are excited and optimistic about the portfolio offering and looking forward to its uptake and market response,” adds Julian.

The only thing that is constant is change. That’s why 8 Star Energy is keenly focused on better understanding consumer needs and demands. With a quick-response and agile approach to development, as well as being demand-driven, the company expects its renewables portfolio to grow and continue evolving, just like customer needs do.
