The global logistics market continues to grow over $10 trillion, accounting for 10.7 percent of the GDP worldwide. Given this humungous growth, digitalizing the manual work processes in the logistics industry is no longer an option but a necessity.

This is where Teladia, a digital logistics platform provider and global logistics consulting firm, takes the lead.

Working in the global logistics value chain across the U.S., Europe, and Asia over the past 25 years, Brian Cho, founder of Teladia, discovered that talented people were leaving the logistics industry due to continuous overtime and stress. More recently, the pandemic’s resulting plant and port closures, truck shortages, human resource and fleet shortages, delays, and global telecommunications uncovered the need for better supply chain visibility. These disruptions and unpredictability alarmingly increased the magnitude of supply chain waste, which became a prevalent problem for many businesses worldwide.

A fundamental remedy that can digitally address these issues is the inspiration behind Teladia.

Today, the firm draws on its founder’s extensive experience in logistics to offer many advantages across a business’s supply chain. One of its key benefits is the value chain data predictions that enable clients to plug gaps and significantly reduce waste.

Concurrently, Euodia Cho, Marketing Manager, Global Market, and Senior at Goizueta Emory University, points out that the complexity of global supply chains driven by the use of different logistics systems hinders the seamless flow of information. Further worsening this is the reliance on legacy communication channels like e-mail, messenger, phone, and fax. Teladia’s SaaS solution is designed to help businesses address the system and data fragmentation and establish a transparent and unified supply chain management experience.

“Using our application, clients can drastically reduce the time they waste on non-core activities and focus on tasks related to core business value,” says Cho.

Through online surveys with more than 300 companies, Teladia identified four areas that required quick digitization. These include transportation history and shipping document management, supply chain visibility, and manual quotation. It uses API-based automatic identification system (AIS) data to meet these needs, providing real-time vessel location and other essential information generated during physical cargo movement. In addition, its smart IoT and GPS monitor asset (or truck) location while delivering realtime data across the value chain. Similarly, it uses API-based aviation data to monitor the arrival and departure of aeroplanes and leverages available technologies and handson logistics experience to build a unique and adaptable solution that resolves the fundamental pain points in the industry. It constantly makes proof of concepts with many clients to identify the common issues hindering businesses from sustaining their efficacy.

Teladia’s solution also enables customers to easily upload, download, and share the information they need through its mobile app or web-based portal that any stakeholder can access anytime, anywhere.

Simultaneously, Teladia assists companies in managing their shipping documentation and enhancing their cargo location visibility so they can communicate real-time information to their stakeholders and consumers. Consequently, businesses can reduce redundant and repetitive tasks by digitalizing manual processes, striking a balance between machine tools and human intuition. Further aligning with prevalent customer needs, Teladia offers its SaaS solution through a subscription-based model.

Recently, Teladia helped a local freight forwarder in Korea whose customer was a multinational company with a large volume of exports and imports. Due to pandemic-driven disruptions, this client could not access their cargo’s whereabouts. Teladia helped them locate the shipment using their technology application, which enabled the freight forwarder to gain complete information on their load and related documents by simply inputting a booking number. Above all, the Teladia app assisted them in preventing massive delays and significant losses.

Succeeding in every project it has taken on, Teladia is growing into a significant force in the logistics industry. Its business model can be categorized into two segments, the creation of logistics software, which it has already achieved, and scaling it as a digital freight forwarder solution for businesses in the Europe-Asia trade. Moving forward, Teladia aims to continue providing timely solutions to enterprises and helping them reach their full potential through impactful process digitization.
